Lombardi: Asomugha won’t be back in Oakland

Is the $30 million contract signed by Richard Seymour going to cost the Raiders Pro Bowl CB Nnamdi Asomugha? NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi hit the topic on “NFL Total Access” Thursday, and has little doubt over the Raiders’ chances of keeping Asomugha.
“I think slim and none, and I would favor none,” Lombardi said. “Once Seymour’s deal was done, that eliminated Asomugha. Seymour got over $22 million in guaranteed money. Now the Raiders can place the franchise tag on TE Zach Miller, therefore keeping him off the market, and ultimately would really make it difficult for Asomugha to come back. Asomugha is going to be the top free agent when we get to free agency this offseason, and he’s going to command a huge deal, something the Raiders can’t really pay.”
