Giants’ Jones working way back from accident

An unfortunate reality for many injured NFL players is they become an afterthought until making it back on the radar of fans and the media. Chad Jones is working hard, and making incredible progress, to make it back.

It has been a question whether Jones, the Giants’ third-round draft pick last April, would ever get back on the field after suffering a broken left leg and left ankle in a car accident in June.

But in his latest update on Jones, Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger provides some video to demonstrate the remarkable recovery taking place. Four months ago, Jones could barely handle the treadmill. His progress now has him running on the treadmill and working through agility drills.

As Garafolo notes, Jones has a long ways to go before realizing his dream of getting on an NFL field. But everyone should be pulling him.
