Here’s an idea on just what the New Jersey Jets need: Chad Ochocinco.
That’s according to Jets Pro Bowl CB Darrelle Revis, who was a member of the Ochocinco News Network during Super Bowl week and admits to being in Ocho’s ear about playing for the Jets next season.
“I want Chad to come here and play for us, to be a Jet,” Revis said, according to New York Metro. “I’ve been in his ear a lot about it this week … I think he could do well here. I’ve been telling him to come here.”
The Jets, who are reported to have 17 free agents if/when the free agency period begins, could be in the market for a receiver. Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith are all due to become unrestricted free agents.
Given the precarious footing for Ochocinco in Cincinnati, maybe it’s not just a pipe dream for Revis. Ochocinco has openly flirted with the idea of playing for the Patriots, Raiders and the Jets, saying he would “do anything” to play for Rex Ryan.
A lot has to happen for Ochocinco to end up in New Jersey (such as a CBA agreement, to start), but at least Revis and Ocho can both stir the pot.
