WR Ward comes up big for Steelers

ARLINGTON, Texas — Big series all in shotgun, empty with no backs. Green Bay decided not to pressure, went with mostly three- or four-man rush and the Steelers were able to move the ball.
The closer the Steelers got to the goal line, the bigger Hines Ward became. He doesn’t have the speed he once had, but he makes so many plays. Three big catches by Ward. Beat zone cover twice and he made great adjustment on the ball for the touchdown.
Here are a couple of defensive notes. LB Clay Matthews was in on a spy against Ben Roethlisberger more at the end because of the quarterback’s ability to scramble. Once Ben made a move, Matthews moved. On one play, Matthews forced Roethlisberger to throw the ball much earlier than he wanted to.
Packers defensive coordinator Dom Campers was pretty conservative at the end of the half, only rushing three or four guys. He is going to heat up in the third quarter. One problem he faces is the health of Charles Woodson, who is one of his primary blitzers. It would not surprise me to see Desmond Bishop and A.J. Hawk blitz in the third quarter from the inside.
