Packers’ Driver leaves with ankle injury

UPDATE II: The Packers announced that Driver also is done for the night, a tough break for an offense that has struggled during the second half.

UPDATE: X-rays on Driver were negative, it was announced, but the receiver remains questionable to return.

It looks like the Green Bay Packers will be without one of their biggest weapons for the time being, as veteran WR Donald Driver has left the sideline for X-rays on his injured ankle.

Driver, who missed two Super Bowl practices with a quadriceps injury, limped off the field following a 4-yard reception during the second quarter. Moments later, television cameras showed him headed up the tunnel to the locker room. The Packers labeled Driver’s return as questionable.

Driver had two receptions for 28 yards in the first half against the Steelers. Jordy Nelson is in the lineup opposite Greg Jennings in base formations.
