Mooch: Packers will win (and Favre will be glad)

So is Brett Favre rooting for the Packers in Super Bowl XLV? That question was posed to NFL Network’s Steve Mariucci during a live chat Wednesday morning on NFL.com.
“He said a couple of weeks ago that he thinks the Packers are the best team in the playoffs and they will win the Super Bowl,” Mariucci said of Favre. “We have to remember he’s still got a lot of friends and former teammates on the Packers. He’s got a lot of people in the building he’s close to. He must have mixed emotions on some level, but I’d say he’s rooting for them.”
Well, Favre might be rooting for the Packers but you never know if he might have his fingers crossed behind his back when he says it.
As for the outcome of the game, Mariucci also thinks the Packers will come out on top.
“I’m picking the Packers,” he said. “The advantage they have — as evenly matched a game as this is — the edge they have is in their offensive line.”
The Packers have only had one key injury on the front line all year, Mariucci noted, and when Mark Tauscher went down, rookie Bryan Bulaga did a nice job replacing him.
“So they have continuity there,” he said. “And they have the better receiving corps. Pittsburgh has a good WR corps, but they are younger.”
