Foster humbled, working hard for next year

DALLAS — The Texans’ Arian Foster was just an anonymous running back prior to last year’s training camp, but he’s rolling around the Media Center on Wednesday, in anticipation for the announcement of the Fed Ex Air & Ground winners. Foster is up against Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles and Falcons RB Michael Turner for the ground winner.
Fantasy enthusiasts have no doubt cast their vote, but the announcement commences at 4 p.m. ET.
“I am honored to be here because I know where I came from,” Foster said. “I am humbled by the experience and now I am just having fun and soaking everything in.”
Foster is walking around with some heady company. Radio Row has seen a number of luminaries including former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, supermodel Brooklyn Decker and that dude from the Miller High Life commercials –a big talent improvement from Monday.
But while we celebrate Foster’s breakout season in 2010, the fantasy enthusiast in me can’t help but ask, “Can we trust you in 2011?”
“You should feel safe,” Foster said. “I am working out as hard as I can and doing everything I can to make sure that not only myself, but we as the Texans, as an offense, are as good an offense next year as we were the last.”
