MOBILE, Ala. — Texas A&M Defensive end/outside linebacker Von Miller has had a great week of practice, and is one of the best natural pass rushers I have ever seen.
I’m really looking forward to seeing him in action at the Senior Bowl on Saturday. He missed Thursday’s practice with a minor illness, but should be back in time for the game.
I want to see if the South coaches let him put his hand in the dirt and go. If they do, he’s going to challenge the North team’s three first-round caliber offensive tackles (Colorado’s Nate Solder, Wisconsin’s Gabe Carimi and Boston College’s Anthony Castonzo). That will be a great battle between some of the best players in this year’s draft.
Even if the coaches choose not to let him blitz, however, I’m still excited to watch him play the outside linebacker position in the 4-3. I’m eager to find out if he’s tough enough and physical enough at the point of attack to hold up.
Editor’s note: The Senior Bowl preview show will air on NFL Network at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game telecast, featuring Paul Burmeister, Mike Mayock and Charles Davis, will follow from 4 p.m. to the conclusion of the game.
