Burney stands out during the North practice

MOBILE, Ala. — North Carolina cornerback Kendric Burney had a sensational session at the North’s morning practice Thursday. He was excellent at reading the offense and getting a great jump on the ball.

Burney’s weakness is his straight-line speed, but with the multitude of red-zone plays the defense was practicing during the session, his talent really stood out.

His quickness and anticipation are outstanding, and those skills become evident when he can press and play in short-yardage situations. Burney has helped himself with an impressive week of practice, culminating with this morning’s exceptional effort.
