Day 3 Senior Bowl standouts

Who were the standouts on day three of practices at the Senior Bowl? NFL Network’s Charles Davis and Mike Mayock had some nominees.

Kendall Hunter, RB, Oklahoma St.
Mayock: “He showed me something I needed to see today. I know Hunter can run with the football. He’s a quick, downhill guy. He competed in the pass-protection piece of (Wednesday’s) practice as well as any back his size can. He consistently stuck his face mask in the chest of linebackers and defensive ends. There was a buzz about this kid.”

Lance Kendricks, TE, Wisconsin
Davis: “This guy will also block people. So when you watch him, he gives you a nice combination. He’s known more as a pass catcher because he’s a former wide receiver, but he’s gotten big and developed as an in-line blocker. He’s done a nice job this week.”

Von Miller, LB, Virginia Tech
Mayock: “He’s a guy to me that when you put the tape on, he defies gravity. He can bend, turn and get to the quarterback. There’s no doubt in my mind that from a perspective of rushing the quarterback, he can do that.”

Greg Salas, WR, Hawaii
Davis: “This guy showed more and more on Wednesday. He displayed great hands in catching the football but also ran routes pretty well. We saw several routes where it looked like he was covered, but by the end of the route, he found a way to uncover himself and make the catch. I liked what I saw out of Salas.”
