Breer: Jauron at top of Eagles’ list for DC

Since the surprise firing of Sean McDermott last week, a number of names have been connected to the defensive coordinator vacancy in Philadelphia.
While the Eagles commence their search, one rumbling has been that secondary coach Dick Jauron could be promoted to defensive coordinator. NFL Network’s Albert Breer told fans during his live chat Tuesday that he considers Jauron the “leader in the clubhouse.”
Jauron is also reportedly in the running for the DC job in Cleveland. According to Reuben Frank of CSNÂ Philly, if Jauron gets an offer from the Browns he would discuss it with Andy Reid before accepting. Presumably, that would give Reid a chance to match.
Frank mentions current Packers defensive line coach Mike Trgovac as a candidate who makes a lot of sense, while former Cardinals defensive coordinator Billy Davis is also reported to be on the list. Current NFL Network analyst and former head coach Jim Mora has also been identified as a candidate, according to Jason La Canfora. Mora has been in contact with the Eagles, but an interview hasn’t been scheduled.
