Moments after Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch ended the Saints’ title reign, Twitter was aflutter with hyperbole calling it the greatest playoff run of all time.
In the words of the immortal Chip Diller, “remain calm, please.” Though all might not be well.
The greatest playoff run of all time was Hall of Fame RB Marcus Allen‘s 74-yard masterpiece to lead the Raiders over the Redskins in Super Bowl XVIII — one of the most indelible plays of the Super Bowl era.
Have you forgotten your history, football enthusiasts? One of our Hall of Famers, Rod Woodson, said it is John Riggins run that sealed Super Bowl XVII for the Redskins. Not sure that’s the top, but it certainly tops Lynch’s run.
