Kirwan: Boldin could have a big day

Veteran WR Anquan Boldin has had his moments since being traded to the Ravens before the season began. According to analyst Pat Kirwan, the best maybe yet to come. Kirwan broke down Sunday’s Ravens-Chiefs playoff game in a live chat on Friday, and predicted that Boldin will play a key role in the game.

“I do think he’s a factor,” said Kirwan. “The playoffs are why they went out and got him. And when attacking Kansas City, it’s good to get after their corners. The Chiefs will slow down the run and (Joe) Flacco will have to win this game through the air. So Boldin will definitely be a factor.”

While he noted that Kansas City might contain the Ravens’ running attack, he did think that Ray Rice will get his yards. “Once you got Ray Rice back in the mix, you presented a balanced offense, which is a problem for the defense,” Kirwan said. “I expect more than 100 yards and a TD from Rice alone.”

But he also added that he expected two touchdowns from the passing game — and that could mean a big day from Boldin.

If it sounds as if Kirwan is predicting a Ravens road win on Sunday, that is correct. Kirwan’s prediction is Ravens 21, Chiefs 17.
