Roach sidelined for Bears

UPDATE: The Bears announced at the start of the second half Wright would also not return against the Packers.

Bears coach Lovie Smith might regret his decision to play his starters against the Packers in Week 17.

Starting OLB Nick Roach has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Packers due to a shoulder injury, while special teamer Major Wright was announced as questionable to return with a leg injury.

Before the game even began, it had been decided by the Falcons’ earlier win that the Bears were locked in as the No. 2 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. Win or lose against the Packers, the Bears couldn’t change their seed.

We’ll see if Smith sits his starters down at any point during the second half.
