Members of the media, I will be brief. Yes, we have seen Vikings QB Brett Favre doing his thing. And sure, it may have been rather impressive to watch the old man cut a rug out there. So much so that you can imagine him driving home with the ragtop down so his hair can blow. (Which would be rather cold for Minnesota.)

But whatever you do, please do not mention the phrase, “Favre sure looks like he’s having fun out there. He looks like a kid.”

Because you say that, and then suddenly, Favre starts thinking about all of the things that he will miss about the NFL. Not just the games, but the camaraderie, the guys and fooling around during stretching exercises.

Next thing you know, Favre’s out there throwing balls to high school kids in August. With NFL Network’s Scott Hanson looking miserable, camped out on Favre’s lawn in Mississippi and then a plane full of Vikings is heading down to talk him into giving it one last try.

And all because you could not report how much fun he’s having out there. So please stop it.

Though it does bear noting: He really does look like he’s having fun out there.
