Week 15 power rankings: Patriots now No. 1

.) Patriots — Credentials are impeccable at this point.
.) Falcons — Stringing together road wins now. Will be tough to beat at home in playoffs.
.) Steelers — Tough loss but pretty amazing to be sitting where they are after that offseason.
.) Ravens – Most dominant rushing effort of the season, and the schedule sets up for them.
.) Eagles – We may never see a comeback like that again with that DeSean Jackson exclamation point.
.) Saints – Got overpowered at times, but losing cold weather game at Baltimore is nothing to be ashamed of. Power run teams give them problems.
.) Chargers – Have to travel last two weeks but against inferior opposition.
.) Colts – Full marks for beating the very physical Jags — wasn’t sure they were gonna pull that off.
.) Jets – As big a win as any team had last weekend. It keeps the wheels from falling off. Quite a statement.
.) Giants – Gonna be very difficult to get over that one, but still in good shape for a wild card.
.) Chiefs – Have to wonder if that Chargers game would have been totally different had Matt Cassel played.
.) Bears – Have a way of catching teams at the right time.
.) Jaguars – Tough, tough loss but still in the hunt.
.) Packers — Heck of an effort but too many injuries, simply put.
.) Cowboys — If they get to 7-9, it would be a helluva accomplishment.
.) Bucs – Worst time possible to finally lose a late game, but beat the Lions and they’re right there for wild card.
.) Raiders — Not just leaving Jason Campbell alone is going to cost them the AFC West despite being undefeated in the division.
.) Bills – Love these crazy, scrappy Bills.
.) Titans — Running the ball again.
.) Lions – I continue to believe the future is bright there. Finally a win on the road.
.) Vikings — Complete and utter disaster of a season on all fronts.
.) Dolphins – Four missed FGs by that kicker? Yikes.
.) Texans – Fighting teammates now, eh? Nice touch.
.) Rams – Youth shows through at worst times possible. If they can win at Seattle on Jan. 2 though, they’re playoff bound.
.) Browns — Back to back bad losses will lead to Eric Mangini’s ouster.
.) Seahawks — So much for that home field advantage. I fear someone’s gonna win this division at 7-9.
.) 49ers — Who is the quarterback again?
.) Redskins — Tragically flawed defensive football club. Let’s see if Rex Grossman ever pulls that off again.
.) Bengals – The 10 game slide is over and now big questions remain about the future, and who is a part of it.
.) Broncos — Nice first start for Tim Tebow but they remain a chronically flawed team.
.) Cardinals — No franchise has fallen further, faster this season.
.) Panthers – A win is a win, but the Cards on the East Coast at 1 p.m. is kind of a gift.
