Favre Watch: A short pregame workout

If I were a betting man, I would say Brett Favre will play in Monday night’s game against the Bears on the frozen tundra of TCF Bank Stadium.

That’s crazy to imagine. But know that I have no problem being wrong, either.

Many of us in the NFL newsroom just finished watching Favre complete his pregame workout, which lasted roughly 10 minutes.  Wearing a stocking camp and facemask, only Favre’s eyes were visible as the snow came down at midfield. Near the end of the workout, Favre aired out a series of longer throws. He did reach up and touch his shoulder several times, but clearly wasn’t recoiling in pain after the throws.

So, yeah, it’s anyone’s guess.

There are several factors at play. One, tonight would represent Favre’s last home game, and his legacy would only grow by returning at the last minute in one final appearance to save the Vikings during a Monday night blizzard. It would be fitting. And with his record consecutive games streak over, if he deems himself healthy enough to play, will Leslie Frazier give him the start, or use him as a backup to Joe Webb?

Adam Rank hit us up with some fantasy angles to watch.

Now that we’ve taken Favre Watch to a whole new and wintry edition level, all that’s left to do is wait. The official inactives for the game are due 90 minutes before kickoff, around 7 p.m. ET.
