Colts’ Collie concussed again

It’s an all-too-common sight this season to see Colts WR Austin Collie laid out on the field after a crushing hit. That scene played out again Sunday against the Jaguars.

Collie was knocked out of the game late in the second quarter after taking a hit over the middle from Jaguars LB Daryl Smith. The Colts later announced that Collie had suffered another concussion and is doubtful to return.

You’ll see in the video that it was a legal hit, but Collie’s neck bent sideways from the impact of Smith’s momentum. Collie was down on the field for several minutes, then was led straight to the locker room by team personnel after he got to his feet, walking under his own power.

It was a short but sweet return for Collie. In his first game back after missing the previous three with a concussion and related issues, he had scored both of the Colts’ touchdowns against the Jaguars. But Collie has missed five games this season as a result of the concussion earlier this season.

Even though he’s listed as doubtful, it would be a major surprise to see the Colts allow Collie back on the field against the Jaguars.
