UPDATE: Cassel took the field on the Chiefs’ first offensive series as the starter.

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel is active for Sunday’s Show Me State showdown with the Rams and could start.

Cassel had an emergency appendectomy 11 days ago and missed last week’s 31-0 loss to the Chargers. He was limited in practice Friday and listed as questionable on the Chiefs’ final injury report.
