Dolphins’ Carroll tripped during play on sideline

There are only so many things to say about the tripping incident that took place on the Jets sideline on Sunday, so the video above can speak for itself.

Dolphins CB Nolan Carroll was tripped by someone wearing Jets gear on the sideline while running down a punt late during the third quarter. To make matters worse, he was injured on the play, although he later returned. Good news.

It goes without saying this type of act has no place in the NFL, let alone sports. If the trip was indeed intentional, as it appears, calling it “bush league” seems pretty accurate.

UPDATE: Jets coach Rex Ryan said he hadn’t been aware of the incident until being told prior to his postgame news conference. “Obviously we’ll look into it,” he said. Multiple reports have identified head strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi as the tripper in question.
