Tolbert leaves game for Chargers

UPDATE: Tolbert returned during the second half for the Chargers.
As if losing Vincent Jackson to an injury in his season debut wasn’t enough, the Chargers have now lost perhaps their biggest remaining playmaker — Mike Tolbert – to an injury against the Colts.
Tolbert left the game during the second quarter with a hand injury and has been brought to the locker room for tests, per tonight’s NBC game broadcast.
Already playing without Ryan Mathews, losing Tolbert leaves the Chargers dangerously thin in the backfield. Darren Sproles would figure to be the first option, along with FB Jacob Hester. Curtis Brinkley is the only other back on the roster.
