Bucs starting free safety and special teams standout Cody Grimm was carted off the field at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday with what all indications are a serious left ankle injury. It was soon announced he won’t return against the Ravens.
Grimm was injured while blocking on an interception return when a teammate fell onto the back of his left leg. He was bent over backwards by the hit, with his left leg caught underneath the weight of his body.
Players from both teams gathered around the scene as trainers attended to Grimm, who was placed on the back of a cart. He appeared in good spirits as teammates wished him well before leaving the field.
The Bucs also lost starting RG Davin Joseph to a foot injury on the team’s first drive of the game.
