Seahawks’ Whitehurst replaces Hasselbeck

UPDATE: Hasselbeck returned on the Seahawks’ third possession of the second half, his left hand and wrist tapped heavily.

The injury that forced Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck out just before halftime Sunday against the Cardinals is serious enough that he won’t start the second half.

Backup Charlie Whitehurst started the half under center in Arizona, while Hasselbeck remains in the locker room.

It’s thought that Hasselbeck suffered a left hand injury, but the Seahawks have made no official announcement. Hasselbeck had a great first half, connecting on 17 of 23 passes for 273 yards, with a 63-yard touchdown to Deon Butler.
