Wells closer to ‘the list;’ Hightower an option

The old cliche says that you can never go on “the list” because of injuries. Or maybe the saying was that you can never lose your job because of an injury. Those cliches get tough to manage.
But Cardinals RB Beanie Wells is very close to landing on “the list.” The enigmatic running back missed practice again Wednesday, and if last week is any indication, he is going to see a decrease in playing time because of it.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt explained earlier this week that Wells did not see a lot of action against the Vikings because he was not able to practice. (Cue the soundtrack of Allen Iverson complaining about practice right here.)
Wells has long been high on the fantasy radar with people predicting big things for him. But those people probably did not see that his college career was hampered by high expectations and injuries, too. Injured running backs: you can’t live with them, can’t put them on the waiver wire, either.
RB Tim Hightower becomes a good option against the Seahawks if Wells is unable to go. The Seahawks have allowed the sixth-most points to running backs this season.
