Warner sacked from ‘Dancing With the Stars’

One week after basketball player Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burke got the axe, Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya were eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday night. They were the last couple eliminated before the semifinals.

Warner had hinted to Brooke Burke, a host of “Dancing with the Stars” that he felt this week may be his last. He lamented, “Eights, eights, eights” as he left the staging area Monday night before the results were known. Warner felt like he made a solid effort in his two dances and had continued to show improvement, but the scores didn’t reflect that. Warner’s flourescent green shirt couldn’t have helped his cause. He did get a standing ovation from the crowd as the credits rolled and his fellow contestants chanted, “MVP.”

Asked what it was like to be leaving, Warner responded, “Life isn’t always about winning and losing competitions, but it’s about relationships and impacting people.” He may not have been the most graceful on the dance floor, but he was certainly a gracious participant and a lot of fun to watch.

Back to football next Monday night.
