Dolphins make bewitching move at QB

The Dolphins have replaced starting QB Chad Henne with Chad Pennington in what has to be the most lateral, uninspiring move of two main characters with the same first name since Dick Sargent replaced Dick York as Darrin Stephens on “Bewitched” in the late 1960s.
Do not expect this move to help WR Brandon Marshall, who has already joined “the list”. Marshall has moved from surefire No. 1 starter, to a third receiver. But this news could be good for the Dolphins running game. Expect Miami to pound the ball more, hopefully improving the value of RB Ronnie Brown, who could be a good buy-low candidate right now. (I will try to steal Brown away from Gil Brandt in the NFL.com Magazine League, so don’t tell him.)
The move fantasy enthusiasts should be rooting for is for the Dolphins to make QB Tyler Thigpen the starting quarterback. Thigpen showed he could hurl the pearl in 2008, and would be a more dynamic option at quarterback. And Thigpen should be ready to go, given Pennington’s injury history. Pennington has made Matthew Stafford look like Brett Favre – durability-wise — during his career.
And one caveat for Dolphins fans to consider: Bewitched ended in 1972 — the year the Dolphins went undefeated and won the Super Bowl.
Coincidence? Yeah, probably.
