Chargers rule out Mathews, Gregory

The Chargers have ruled out RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) and SS Steve Gregory (shoulder) for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Texans.

Mathews, who has battled ankle injuries all season,¬†initially limped off the field during the second quarter and we haven’t seen much of him since. He had nine rushes for 42 yards before leaving. The Chargers are leaning on Mike Tolbert and Darren Sproles in Mathews’ absence.

Paul Oliver has replaced Gregory on defense.
