Playoffs? Williams believes Cowboys can do it

Apparently Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams isn’t kidding, telling the Dallas Morning News that he believes the 1-6 team can run the table to go 10-6 and make the playoffs.

“You know me. I think we can go nine in a row, if you ask me,” Williams said. “People can call me stupid or whatever, but this football team has the core of players and the supporting cast of players to win nine in a row. We just got to get it started.”

No team has started 1-6 and reached the postseason since the NFL schedule went to 16 games. The 1970 Cincinnati Bengals went 1-6, then won their final seven games to make the playoffs in a 14-game format.

The Cowboys’ next chance “to get it started” is Sunday night in Green Bay.
