Cowboys bench Gronkowski; Garrard active for Jags

A missed block might have cost Cowboys rookie FB Chris Gronkowski his starting job.
Gronkowski was inactive for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, six days after he failed to block Giants LB Michael Boley, who broke Cowboys QB Tony Romo’s collarbone on a hit. Romo could be out 6 to 8 weeks.
Gronkowski, who wasn’t listed on the Cowboys’ injury report Friday, has started twice this season. He is the only fullback listed on Dallas’ roster.
Jaguars QB David Garrard is active and in line to start after missing last week’s loss to the Chiefs because of a concussion. DE Jeremy Mincey, who was promoted to starter this week, is out because of a broken right hand, meaning demoted Derrick Harvey might have his job back by default.
