I was in a theater many years ago watching a trailer of the movie “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” when one of the guys in front of me leaned over to his friend and said, “If John Candy could ever get the right role, he would be a superstar. He just needs the chance.”
The same could be said of Cardinals RB Beanie Wells. Everybody has been predicting big things from the kid, yet he has found himself sitting behind incumbent Tim Hightower. Now it looks like Wells will get his chance. His “Uncle Buck” if you will.
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt made the announcement on Friday (via Darren Urban on Twitter), saying that Wells will start against the Buccaneers. Great news for those of you who have kept the faith with Wells this season.
Wells has a good matchup against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay ranks eighth in fantasy points allowed to fantasy running backs. Of course, rookie QB Max Hall is also reportedly going to start. But still, use Wells with confidence.
