Stay away from Saints’ Ivory, Betts vs. Steel Curtain

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Pierre Thomas saw a local foot and ankle specialist this week for a third opinion on his injury. Thomas was advised to reduce his workload in an effort to speed up the healing process.

Thomas wasn’t expected to return soon, and it was no surprise to see that he was unable to practice again on Thursday. Barring a miracle, he has little chance to play Sunday night against the Steelers. In fact, I wouldn’t be shocked if Thomas didn’t return until after the team’s Week 10 bye.

With Reggie Bush (leg) also expected to be out in Week 8, Chris Ivory and Ladell Betts will continue to share the workload. Neither is worth using outside of deeper leagues against the Steel Curtain.
