Fans of the Seinfeld series will recall George Costanza telling Jerry that independent George and relationship George should never intersect. Because a George divided against itself cannot stand.
Likewise fantasy George and fan boy George should never intersect, either.
Honestly, having players from your team on your fantasy team is never a good idea. Thankfully, living in Southern California where the last meaningful snap of professional (non-Arena) football was taken by Los Angeles Xtreme QB Tommy Maddox, this is not a problem. The same cannot be said for my pal — let’s call him for the sake of protecting his anonymity — George.
George picked Cowboys QB Tony Romo, to the obvious catcalls of ‘homer’ and other names that cannot be repeated in a family blog. Obviously not a bad pick. And to his credit, he does not have Cowboys RB Tashard Choice on his roster. So he is not a total loser.
Well, until Monday night that is. That is when the seasons of fantasy George and fan boy George took a grave hit in a must-win game for both teams. At least fantasy George has Ravens QB Joe Flacco on his roster, which is a better option than Cowboys backup QB Jon Kitna.
But still, that has to hurt.
Alright fantasy enthusiasts, let’s here your tales of woe. And let’s hear from the Cowboys fans who had Romo on their team. Or anybody hurt as badly as Romo’s busted collar bone. You will feel better if you let it flow.
