UPDATE II: Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed Jackson suffered a concussion.
UPDATE: The Eagles announced Jackson suffered a head injury and will not return to the game. The Falcons announced Robinson also has a head injury and is questionable to return.
A violent collision between Falcons CB Dunta Robinson and Eagles WR DeSean Jackson in Sunday’s game left both players down on the turf for several minutes before they were taken off the field.
Robinson hit Jackson on a crossing route, leading with his shoulder, during the first quarter. Robinson, who didn’t lead with his head, caught Jackson on his right shoulder, knocking both players to the ground.
Jackson was a defenseless receiver, and the hit got Robinson a 15-yard personal-foul penalty.
Players from both teams gathered around Jackson and Robinson as they were down on the field, and both had to be helped off with the assistance of trainers. Both Jackson and Robinson were immediately led off the field and brought to their respective locker rooms.
It was a violent collision, and it seems doubtful we’ll see either Jackson or Robinson back in this game.
