Reggie Bush improving, but isn’t rushing return

When Reggie Bush went down three weeks ago in San Francisco, the Saints lost the one player, according to Brian Baldinger , who struck fear in the hearts of defensive coordinators.
Bush told Mike Triplett of The Times-Picayune he doesn’t have a timetable for his return, but has been “making huge leaps” and would love to be back by Week 7 or 8. Temper your optimism, though, because Bush is still in the rehabilitation phase (treadmill + bike + pool) and hasn’t started running on grass yet.
“I’ve been going pretty hard and doing some running and feeling good,” Bush said. “So I think it’s just kind of the waiting game, just to see how it feels every day. The next step will be doing directional stuff, moving around on it, and not just going north and south. Going east and west on it, and just trying to see how it feels.”
Bush was pretty clear he’s not going to risk an early return and will wait until he’s 100 percent, and Triplett wrote that a return to practice next week is the most optimistic scenario.
