Mathews back to work for the Bolts

San Diego Union-Tribune reporter Kevin Acee reports that Ryan Mathews (ankle) was able to return to practice on Thursday. He shouldn’t be in any danger of missing this week’s game against the Rams.
However, the rookie remains somewhat of a risk for fantasy owners.
Chargers coach Norv Turner has suggested that Mathews won’t carry the backfield load until he puts in a full week of practice. Considering that he was held out on Wednesday, it’s likely that Mike Tolbert will remain in the mix … at least until further notice.
Mathews should be seen as a No. 2 fantasy back against the Rams.
