Saints RB Thomas still has soreness and swelling

Saints coach Sean Payton told reporters today that Pierre Thomas still has soreness and swelling with his ankle injury. When the Saints signed Julius Jones, I figured this was a bad sign that Thomas was not as close to returning as we would all hope. And that might be the case.

Thomas did not practice on Wednesday, so fantasy owners should prepare for the worst-case scenario. Payton even said that Jones was signed for depth, and not because he was disappointed in Ladell Betts and Chris Ivory.

Saints RB Reggie Bush said that he hopes to return for the Browns game in Week 7, and if not, for the Steelers game in Week 8, according to Times Picayune columnist Jeff Duncan (via Twitter).
