Before Week 5, the Packers represented one of those must-start teams, where you could feel safe starting all of their notable offensive players. That could be in for a huge change.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion in overtime on Sunday, and coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that he was prepared to go with Matt Flynn. Fantasy enthusiasts who own Rodgers won’t be that desperate, but should start making alternate plans for Week 6.
Take a look at Titans QB Vince Young this week. Starting quarterbacks against the Jaguars is a nice fix. I mean, if Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick goes large against the Jaguars, anybody can.
The biggest news — probably because I have this dude on multiple teams — is that TE Jermichael Finley is expected to be out three weeks, according to McCarthy. Ah great. Looks like I will be sporting some new gear on Super Bowl Sunday.
If you lost Finley, you should take a look at Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez, who is owned in just 34 percent of leagues on NFL.com. Many enthusiasts likely dropped Hernandez during the bye week. Make them pay for that on waivers, if you can. Hernandez figures to be a bigger part of the offense in the wake of the Randy Moss trade.
So move quickly, people. In fact — nope — he’s gone in two of my three leagues.
