The Packers announced OLB Clay Matthews – who was having another strong performance on Sunday — won’t return during the fourth quarter against the Redskins due to cramping in his hamstring.
Matthews jogged off the field under his own power, but the injury is serious enough that he’s not returning with the Packers leading 13-10 late in the fourth quarter. He remains on the sidelines, watching the game with his helmet off. Matthews was credited with two tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Brady Poppinga has replaced Matthews.
It’s been a rough day on the injury front for the Packers. Donald Lee (shoulder) has been ruled out of the game, while Jermichael Finley (knee) and Ryan Pickett (ankle) haven’t returned after officially being announced as questionable.
