Bears pull Collins in favor of Hanie

Todd Collins is out for the Bears, and Caleb Hanie is in.

The Bears made the move at quarterback late during the third quarter following Collin’s fourth interception of the game against the Panthers. The turnover ended the Bears’ fourth drive of the half, and the previous three all resulted in┬áthree-and-outs before punting.

According to the team, the move was a coach’s decision. No injury was involved in the switch.

Collins went 6-of-16 passing for 32 yards. Even so, the Bears held a 17-6 lead to begin the fourth quarter behind the play of RB Matt Forte.

Lance Briggs also has been announced as questionable to return with an ankle injury. He has been replaced by Brian Iwuh.
