Moreno out for third consecutive game

There is a hamstring epidemic in the AFC West. Somebody begin the Dateline investigation. Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno will miss his third consecutive game because of a hamstring injury according to coach Josh McDaniels.

Not that you can blame Moreno, here. Because who among us would be anxious to start against the Ravens? RBs Correll Buckhalter and Laurence Maroney are expected to split carries against the Ravens’ stingy run defense, but neither of them are going to carry much fantasy value. Even though Peyton Hillis put up good numbers against Raven earlier this year.

And speaking of that, how is that Brady Quinn deal working out Denver? Hillis was somewhat of an afterthought, a throw-in player if you will. And he’s tearing up the league.

QB Kyle Orton could be forced to throw more with Moreno out, but again, not a great fantasy option against Baltimore. Although, if he could torch the Ravens’ defense, then we could be looking at a legitimate, must-start fantasy football stud. And if that happens, I will try to convince Dave Dameshek to grow a neck beard in his honor.
