Fantasy owners could have RB Thomas back

The Saints and fantasy owners alike are hoping to have Pierre Thomas (ankle) back in time for this week’s game against the Cardinals.
Well, coach Sean Payton has given us reason for hope.
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Payton is optimistic that Thomas will play in Week 5. While he did miss practice on Thursday, the veteran running back is improving.
This would be a great time for Thomas to return, as he would face a Cardinals defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing runners this season.
In the event that Thomas is unable to return, Ladell Betts and Chris Ivory would once again split the workload.
Last week, Betts played 58 of the Saints’ 76 offensive snaps due in large part to his skills as a blocker. Ivory, who struggles in pass protection, was only on the field for 16 snaps.
Still, Ivory saw just five fewer touches than Betts in the contest. Regardless, both backs would have flex value in larger leagues based on the favorable matchup.
