Assuming your deadline hasn’t passed, make your waiver claim for Redskins RB Ryan Torain right now. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan announced Wednesday that Clinton Portis is expected to be out for four-to-six weeks with a groin separation.

And yes, give yourself a moment to cringe from just reading the phrase. Groin separation. You can really feel it, right?

When you hear about an injury like this, with a player on the backside of his career, there are no guarantees that Portis could return at all. That makes Torain an even more attractive option for many of you with running back troubles.

Except, of course, that Shanahan is the coach. Meaning that Olandis Gary could be brought in to be in a committee with Torain. Although, I am just kidding about Gary. But just barely.
