Who are the angriest people in sports? Bobby Knight? Mike Singletary? A Raiders fan after his spiked shoulder pads won’t pass through airport security?
You are way off. For starters, most Raiders fans ride Greyhound.
No, the angriest people in sports are the people who drafted Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker on their fantasy teams. And they are letting him hear about it, too. Sims-Walker voiced his frustration with his second no-reception game of the season (coincidentally, the Jaguars only win when he does not have a catch). But he said that is nothing close to the vitriol that fantasy enthusiasts have been showering down on the receiver.
“That’s the worst part of it,” Sims-Walker said. “I’ve never seen this many bitter people in my life. They’re calling me everything in the book: ‘I’m benching you, you’re this, you’re that, you’re trash.’ It kind of hurts a little bit.
“I have no control over it. I wish they could understand. It ain’t like I’m out there dropping balls or not getting open. You watch the film. I’m doing everything I can possibly do to put myself in the right position, but it’s just not working for me right now.”
Really? Are you doing everything? Have you demanded a trade? Have you called out your quarterback in a Playboy interview? Have you changed your name to Unouno? Well, then clearly you have not been doing everything. So make it happen, captain.
