Stafford’s return? That’s still TBD

Looking for a sign, any sign, that Matthew Stafford will return soon for the Lions? Don’t count on it.
As is his mantra, Lions coach Jim Schwartz continues to refuse to put a timetable on Stafford’s return from his injured right throwing shoulder.
“He will be back, whether it’s this week or not; whether it’s next week or net; whether it’s the week after that – still yet to be determined,” Schwartz told reporters. “We’ll just keep on saying we’re talking about a quarterback’s throwing shoulder and we’re going to be very judicious in his time he comes back on the field.”
According to Chris McCosky of The Detroit News, the Lions will wait until Wednesday to announce the quarterback’s status, although Stafford said during a radio interview he might try to throw this week. Maybe.
Schwartz certainly has no competitive advantage into saying when Stafford will return, and Shaun Hill is playing well. If Stafford has yet to even throw, a return after the Lions’ bye in Week 8 is feeling like a safe bet.
