Rumors of Terrell Owens demise, apparently, have been greatly exaggerated. Why just this morning a couple of nice blokes were talking about how Owens appeared to have lost it and it was time to move on to Jordan Shipley.
I should know, I was one of those guys.
And as you probably are aware, Owens have about 800 receiving yards today, and I have to check to see if Shipley was even in the lineup today. (He actually left with a concussion.) Now I do not want to take credit for motivating Owens today, but the evidence is as clear as the 49ers inability to win.
However, I would caution against the think that this is Owens coming out party and that he is ready to become an elite NFL receiver. He might have games like this in the future, but I would expect him to go back to posting pedestrian numbers in the future, as the Bengals offense continues to flounder around. In other words, sell high.
