Injury roundup: Eagles lose Vick, Samuel

  • It was a rough day for the Eagles on the injury front. Michael Vick will undergo an MRI exam on Monday due to chest and ribs injuries. Jason La Canfora reports X-rays were negative and showed no broken bones. The Eagles also lost CB Asante Samuel and WR Riley Cooper to concussions.
  • Panthers WR Steve Smith suffered a left ankle injury and didn’t return against the Saints. The Charlotte Observer reported X-rays were negative and Smith was placed in a walking boot with what it’s calling a high ankle sprain.
  • Raiders RB Darren McFadden didn’t return after injuring his right hamstring during the fourth quarter against the Texans.
  • The Saints played without SS Roman Harper and lost both Pierson Prioleau (chest) and Chris Reis (right shoulder).
  • With RB Ray Rice playing with a bruised knee, the Ravens also lost Willis McGahee (stinger) and Le’Ron McClain (stinger) against the Steelers. While McClain returned, McGahee did not, although the injury isn’t considered serious. Ravens DE Paul Kruger suffered a sprained left knee.
  • Already playing without WR Andre Johnson, the Texans lost WR Jacoby Jones (left leg injury) during the third quarter.
  • Seahawks rookie LT Russell Okung (right ankle) left during the second quarter and did not return. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Okung did not re-injure his high right ankle sprain and could have returned.
  • The Titans lost WR Justin Gage (left hamstring) during the first quarter and rookie DE Derrick Morgan (left knee) during the second quarter.
  • Bengals WR Jordan Shipley (concussion) was knocked out of the game during the fourth quarter and did not return. The Bengals also lost SS Roy Williams (right knee) and CB Jonathan Joseph (right forearm). Neither player returned.
  • Rams CB Kevin Dockery (right hamstring) left against the Seahawks during the third quarter.
  • The Packers lost SS Morgan Burnett against the Lions to a sprained knee, while LB Nick Barnett left the game briefly with a sprained wrist.
  • 49ers TE Delanie Walker (ankle) didn’t return following his second-quarter injury, but X-rays were negative, according to The Associated Press.
  • Colts SS Melvin Bullitt left the game on at least two occasions with a shoulder injury.
  • Bears backup QB Todd Collins was also knocked out of the Sunday night matchup against New York with a stinger.
