UPDATE: Packers coach Mike McCarthy said during his postgame news conference that Burnett suffered a sprained knee, but had no details of the severity of the injury before tests are conducted. NFL.com’s Steve Wyche reported Barnett suffered a sprained wrist but isn’t expected to miss any playing time.
The Packers announced that SS Morgan Burnett has left Sunday’s game against the Lions because of a knee injury. His return is questionable.
Burnett went to the locker room for X-rays and was replaced by Derrick Martin. Burnett was back on the sideline, but he hasn’t returned to the game.
Packers LB Nick Barnett also left the game briefly during the second quarter to have X-rays on his wrist, but he was able to return. With reserve Brandon Chillar already inactive, the Packers are thin at linebacker.
