Steelers still perfect as Big Big return looms

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-0, and one week away from getting starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger back on the practice field. Imagine that.
While the debate had been over what record would keep the Steelers afloat while they awaited Roethlisberger’s return, few expected the Steelers to be in this position with Byron Leftwich … or Dennis Dixon … or Charlie Batch under center. Thanks to lights-out play from the defense and the most recent fill-in from their No. 4 quarterback (Batch), the Steelers have guaranteed they’ll be at least 3-1 when Roethlisberger returns.
A home game against the Ravens stands between the Steelers and a perfect 4-0 non-Roethlisberger record, a position Hines Ward knows teams recognize.
“The league does not want us to be 4-0 with a mad Ben (Roethlisberger) coming back, I’ll tell you that,” Ward told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Roethlisberger is eligible to return to practice with the Steelers on Oct. 4 and play on Oct. 17, following the team’s bye week. Might we be witnessing the best coaching job by Mike Tomlin to date?
