Vikings’ Sullivan leaves game during first drive

The Minnesota Vikings lost starting center John Sullivan to a left calf injury on their first drive, potentially leaving them thin up front against the Lions on Sunday.

Sullivan had his lower left leg looked at by trainers before limping off the field, and was replaced by Ryan Cook. Jon Cooper, the top backup to Sullivan, was deactivated by the Vikings, meaning they’ll be going with their third-string option at center.

The Vikings announced Sullivan as questionable to return.

Cook, the team’s swing lineman, has 33 career starts, mostly at right tackle.
