Wells had a minor scope

Cardinals RB Beanie Wells had a minor scope on his knee according to Darren Urban of the team’s official site (via Twitter).

Urban reports that Wells had the same procedure in college and played the same week. And while it is fashionable to compare the Raiders talent level to a lower-level BCS conference like the Big Ten, let’s give Oakland a little bit of credit here. I mean, the Raiders are better than Northwestern, right?

I know a lot of you who drafted Wells early are clamoring to play him. But I will tell you the same thing that I tell my buddies when they order a round of Jaeger Bombs — not a good idea. The Cardinals have a solid matchup, but Wells will probably be gradually inserted into the lineup. And really, Tim Hightower has never lost his starting job, even though Wells was the trendy pick in most fantasy drafts. So cool your Jets on Wells, and start Hightower with some confidence.
